Sustainability that wins!

L&T has been featured among Asia’s Top 5 ‘Most Sustainable Companies’ in the Industrials Sector in Channel NewsAsia’s Sustainability Rankings 2015.
The Channel NewsAsia Sustainability Ranking identifies the Top 100 companies in the region with the highest sustainability performance, based on a broad range of environmental, social and governance (ESG) indicators. The analysis took into account the performance of the company in terms of contribution to social development, good governance and environmental protection. The ranking provides investors and consumers with insights into corporate sustainability practices, and aims to provide businesses with a way to benchmark their performance against other regional businesses. The countries covered including India are China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Japan.
Further, India’s leading financial publication The Economic Times has ranked L&T at #4 in its survey of “Best Companies for CSR in India”. L&T was ranked at #7 in the last year’s survey by the publication. Conducted by Futurescape and IIM-Udaipur on behalf of The Economic Times, the survey this year featured 216 companies whose CSR efforts were weighed against four key criteria of sustainability, stakeholder value, governance and disclosures. Listing L&T’s efforts, the survey makes a special mention of L&T’s focus on water & sanitation, education, healthcare and skill development.
