Our PLC based Alarm Monitoring System (AMS) for commercial ships complies with commercial class requirements.  Data Acquisition Units (DAUs) are provided to house PLC and IO cards. The IO cards, commonly referred to as modules, are used to gather & process incoming signals from various sensors and to communicate with the PLC. Based on the number of channels, PLC & IO modules are selected. A 100 Mbps network is formed through managed Ethernet switches which have network monitoring capabilities. FO data bus in accordance with ISO 9314 FDDI standard is provided. DAUs are also connected with consoles/Multi-Function Workstation (MFWs). Marine grade displays are fitted on the console with processing systems. Mimic pages can be customised as per project requirements.

The AMS is interfaced with critical equipment and alarms are replicated on Human Machinery Interface (HMI) or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) located in the ER/MCR and bridge as per the respective class requirements.
