L&T bags Achievement Award from FinanceAsia
The successful $600 million QIP and Convertible Bonds issue by L&T has been selected for an achievement award by FinanceAsia – the leading Hong Kong based publication for the investor and analyst community. The on–line edition of the magazine which carried the announcement of the award, described the winning transactions as “the defining deals of 2009”. Only one transaction is selected in each country, and the L&T issue was cited as ‘Best India Deal’. (December 14, 2009)

L&T bags EuroFinance Award for Corporate Treasury Management
L&T has won the inaugural EuroFinance Award for excellence in corporate treasury management. EuroFinance is the global leader in conferences, training and research for the treasury management profession. The award was presented at a conference on International Treasury Management in Mumbai on November 25, 2009.

L&T’s Sustainability Reporting receives Asian honours
L&T’s Sustainability Report 2008 and specifically its disclosures, was ranked among the top 4 in the country by Asian Sustainability Rating (ASR). The study examined 20 leading companies in India. In the pan-Asia rankings, L&T ranked 17 among 200 companies across the continent. Other companies in India’s top four are Tata Consultancy Services, Indian Tobacco Company and Infosys. Finance Asia rates L&T among India’s Best Managed Companies
Finance Asia, a leading Hong Kong based publication for the investor and analyst community, has rated L&T as one of India’s best managed companies. In its annual poll covering 238 investors and analysts of the region, L&T has been ranked 4th in the list of India’s best managed companies. L&T has also ranked 4th in the categories of corporate governance; investor relation; and most committed to a strong dividend policy. (November 3, 2009)

L&T was voted India’s Best Company in the Infrastructure Sector by India’s leading business news channel, NDTV Profit, and was awarded the Business Leadership Award 2009. Technology Block at Hazira wins LEED Platinum Rating
L&T’s Technology Block at Hazira, near Surat in Gujarat, bagged the coveted Platinum Rating under the LEED NC v2.2 Rating System. Inaugurated on January 15, 2009, it is now one of just nine Green Buildings in India. It secured 56 points out of the 57 attempted, and is ranked third greenest in the country and the first LEED Platinum rated project in Gujarat.

Mr. A. M. Naik, Chairman & Managing Director, L&T, will be conferred one of the country’s most coveted honours – the Padma Bhushan. The prestigious Honours List released by the President of India on Republic Day 2009 bore Mr. Naik’s name, citing his contribution to Indian industry, and the role that the Company played in nation building.

Mr. A. M. Naik, Chairman & Managing Director, L&T, was awarded the coveted Business Leader of the Year by The Economic Times. (January 17, 2009) in acknowledgement of his clarity of vision, entrepreneurial ability, business acumen and integrity. Media reports about the Award described Mr. Naik as ‘India’s Mr. Infrastructure’ and stated that he is ‘building the foundations of 21st Century India’. The award jury comprised an eminent panel of global leaders who were impressed by Mr. Naik’s ‘passion, integrity, pride in his company and his determination’.
Mr. A.M. Naik Conferred Gujarat’s Highest State Honour - ‘Gujarat Garima Award’
Mr. A. M. Naik, Chairman & Managing Director, received Gujarat’s highest state honour – the Gujarat Garima Award (‘Pride of Gujarat’) – presented by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Narendra Modi. The award – a shawl, a citation and a memento – was presented on January 12 – the inaugural day of the ‘Vibrant Gujarat exhibition currently being held at Ahmedabad. The award was presented in the presence of a galaxy of state ministers, diplomats, visiting state guests, dignitaries from around 40 countries, senior government officials, business leaders and over ten thousand people.
