L&T’s 1,00,000 MTPA Pithampur Works produces galvanized steel components (both angles & plates) for a range of power transmission line towers. The plant is equipped with the latest CNC lines for fabrication of towers and microprocessor-based, temperature-controlled eco-friendly systems for galvanization of tower members. The fabrication process is controlled through multipurpose CNC machines. The heavy-duty machines perform even the heaviest of bends without distortion and are complemented by EOT cranes for efficient material handling. The Works has one of the biggest (size 13 x 1 x 1.5 m) galvanising baths in the industry, employing environment friendly processes. It is certified with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and accredited with the energy management certification - ISO 50001.
