Mumbai: L&T Construction & Mining Machinery business (L&T CMB) today showcased its technology leadership at Excon 2025 in Bengaluru, outlining its vision for smart construction, remote operations and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
With the exhibition placing strong emphasis on digital convergence and next-generation project execution, L&T reinforced its commitment to supporting India’s rapidly expanding infrastructure landscape with intelligent, safer and more efficient systems.
At Stall OD17, visitors witnessed a landmark demonstration — secure tele-operation of a Komatsu Hydraulic Excavator located over 7,000 kilometres away in Japan, operated from Bengaluru. This breakthrough is powered by EarthBrain, Komatsu’s smart construction ecosystem, which integrates machines, people and worksites into a unified digital environment using high-speed data transmission, real-time feedback, drone surveys, IoT sensors and 3D terrain models.
Commenting on the occasion, Arvind K Garg, Advisor to L&T Chairman & Managing Director, said: “Technology, sustainability and skill development must go hand-in-hand to realise India’s infrastructure ambitions. By introducing connected, hybrid and intelligent machines, we are enabling infrastructure companies to achieve higher productivity and lower lifecycle costs”.
The company showcased a future-ready portfolio of Komatsu and L&T machines tailored for India’s diverse infrastructure needs.
Highlights included the newly launched Komatsu PC225 heavy-duty excavator with enhanced stability and lifting performance, the Komatsu PC390 and PC350 dual-model offering for heavy-duty applications, and the Komatsu PC500 designed for mid-mining operations. Hybrid capability was showcased through the HB365 Hybrid Excavator, while compact solutions such as Komatsu PC35, PC81 and PC136 addressed urban and municipal projects.
Komatsu marked its 20 years in India by introducing the Smart Construction 3DMG Display from Japan, featuring the Teleoperation Cockpit and Humanoid Robot — a first in the construction equipment industry.

Indigenous innovations from L&T included the award-winning TRB60 Trencher for faster, deeper trenching and the L&T Crusher for aggregates and material processing. The company also highlighted its CEV-V compliant vibratory compactors, wheel loaders and skid steer loaders for roadbuilding and earthwork.
Sustainability remained central to L&T’s Excon approach, supported by cleaner engines, hybrid systems, optimised hydraulics and longer component life.
The company reinforced its strong after-sales ecosystem with six service centres, ISO-certified repair facilities and structured operator training at its Kancheepuram Training Centre.
Digital platforms KOMTRAX and KOMTRAX Plus were showcased for enhanced uptime and lifecycle performance.
