For nearly nine decades, L&T has not only built India’s skylines; it has also changed the ‘lifescapes’ of many Indians. Beyond the megastructures and the landmark projects, wherever L&T has broken ground, it has also nurtured roots in the community, touching lives, and making a difference. A large part of our purpose-led growth is guided by L&T-ites, who have never shied away from doing good for the community. Their empathy and spirit of compassion came alive when L&T-ites gathered to commemorate the Joy of Giving week in October, as they do every year.

More than a CSR campaign, ‘Daan Utsav 2025’ was a heartfelt movement across L&T businesses and locations. L&T-ites at Mumbai, Chennai, Hazira, Baroda and numerous project sites engaged in various volunteer activities. From small acts of kindness to collective community efforts, every gesture reflected L&T’s belief that ‘giving’ is not an occasion, but a way of life. This year in Mumbai, a collection drive was organised across multiple offices, to gather clothes, toys and school stationery for underprivileged communities. As is always the case, L&T-ites responded with overwhelming generosity. The collected items were handed over to a Mumbai-based NGO for distribution.

Graduate Engineer Trainees (GETs) participated in a Reading Fair with The Society for Doorstep School, encouraging young readers through interactive learning sessions.  Employee volunteers - ‘L&Teers’ - also spent time with cancer-afflicted children alongside members of the Children’s Toy Foundation and Accesslife Assistance Foundation. Many L&Teers spent a heartwarming day at an old-age home—playing tambola, singing karaoke, sharing stories and enjoying lunch with the elderly. At Hazira, Surat, they convened a ‘Bollywood Night – 1980s’ with residents of an old-age home. The team also organised a Film & Feast evening at a care facility for girls living with HIV. In Vadodara, employees created Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs) for underprivileged children through a two-day activity, combining creativity with purpose. In Kolkata, a collection drive was organised among employees and the donated items handed over to Goonj, an NGO that undertakes disaster relief, humanitarian aid, and community development in several states across India.

As part of ‘Daan Utsav 2025,’ L&Teers made vibrant block-printed tote bags, diyas and candles, spreading festive cheer for Diwali. Several other initiatives — including tree plantations, beach clean-ups, and collection drives were organised across various project sites in India, reflecting L&T’s commitment to community and environmental stewardship.

NGO Mela 2025

In our effort to bring ‘purpose, people and positivity’ together, L&T’s CSR Team hosted an NGO Mela at AMN Tower in Powai, Mumbai. This year’s edition elegantly blended the festive spirit of Diwali with the CSR theme of ‘water,’ reflecting how collective efforts flow together to create long-term impact. The Mela was inaugurated by Mr. Subramanian Sarma (Deputy Managing Director & President, L&T) and Ms. Meena Subrahmanyan (President, Prayas Trust) in the presence of Mr. Anup Sahay (Head – Corporate Strategy & Special Initiatives), Senior Management, NGO partners and many L&T-ites.

A key highlight of the event was the felicitation of L&Teers—employees who volunteered for 15 hours or more during the fiscal year 2024-25. The ceremony was graced by Mr. Sarma and Ms. Meena, who personally commended 25 top volunteers (L&Teers) for their passion, commitment and the spirit of giving back. The moment was a proud and emotional one, with the applause in the hall, celebrating not just individual contributions, but the shared culture of empathy that defines L&T’s volunteering movement — ‘L&Teering.’

The Mela showcased 16 NGOs from across Mumbai and nearby regions, representing diverse causes — from education, health, skilling, and environment to sustainable livelihoods and handcrafted festive products. Employees actively engaged with the NGOs, interacted with the changemakers behind each initiative, and supported their causes through meaningful purchases — turning festive shopping into a celebration of purpose. Adding to the excitement, a Fun Zone managed by our NGO partner Children Toy Foundation engaged employees with interactive games and craft activities. The CSR department witnessed a proud moment hosting Watershed Organization Trust (WOTR) on this platform under Project UNNATI - the integrated community development project being implemented by L&T at Nagzari-Jalna, Devgan, Georai, Pathardi-Ahmednagar.

A legacy of goodness.

In FY 2024-25, nearly 10,000 L&Teers dedicated their time and skills to a range of initiatives, including creativity camps, STEM workshops, educational trips, NGO / craft melas and Daan Utsav. Many volunteers focused on mentoring underprivileged children to bridge learning gaps and build future-ready skills. Employees also contributed to healthcare efforts through medical camps, blood donation drives, and awareness campaigns. At L&T, we believe that greatness is measured not just by what we build, but also by what we nurture. Our proudest ‘projects’ will always be the prosperous, self-reliant communities we build along the way.
