Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru, popularly called the “Garden Terminal”, is a beautiful tribute to  Bengaluru’s greenery. Bringing together modern architecture and nature, with lush indoor gardens, peaceful waterfalls, and open spaces that create a calm and refreshing atmosphere for travellers.

A green airport: The Terminal 2 was planned to function as a terminal in a garden where organic features coexist within a modern architectural work. The terminal’s architecture uses natural materials like clay, bricks, bamboo, rattan and features extensive landscaping - design choices that not only enhance the look of the terminal but also focus on sustainability. 

The use of natural materials adds warmth, while large glass façades and skylights let visible light flood the terminal, highlighting the lush greenery. This terminal offers travellers a unique connection to nature that sets it apart from most airports around the globe.  

Powered completely by renewable energy, the T2 reflects the airport’s commitment and responsibility to the environment. T2 has several types of gardens, including a hanging garden, a calming garden, a sunken garden, and an artificial forest belt. The interior includes rattan furniture and an expansive bamboo ceiling, with approximately 1,000 kilometers of engineered bamboo tubes incorporated into the design.
